Holes Book Jacket
Holes Book Jacket is a (mock) alternate cover design for the classic children's novel by Louis Sachar, reimagining the story's visual identity through the lens of its desolate setting.
The story takes place in a vast, empty desert where isolation is as much a character as the people digging in it. The cover needed to communicate that loneliness at first sight.
The design uses negative space, a bright warm sun, and the holes Stanley digs to focus the composition on the emotional core.
